"Come back here!"
The shout breaks the silence as the white cat jumps from the window sill onto the rooftop of the next house. Without stopping to think, the boy follows him, jumping swiftly from roof to roof through the village. The straw rustles under his feet with each step as he tries to keep his balance and catch up with the silly animal.
As he goes around, he finds himself at a distinctive house of the village; he remembers when the group used to throw things at the windows, still shattered today. It's been a long time since he saw the old man that lives in there but, now, an odd smoke is coming out of the window. The cat jumps down from the rooftop and gets lost in an alley, while our character stays behind, approaching carefully to see what's happening.
"This just needs a little bit more of roots from the forest!" The voice sounds as if it came from afar, guttural and destroyed. The old long-bearded man whisper words that sound like an ancient language. Leaning in to have a better view of the room, the boy steps on dead leaves, attracting the attention of the man who, startled, turns abruptly around and knocks the cauldron off, spilling its entire contents on the wooden floor.
"Look what you've made me do, you little rat!"
Furiously, the man jumps over the steaming mixture spreading on the floor and reaches a hand out to the boy in an attempt to grab him, while the boy turns around trying to escape to the closest rooftop. The next second, he finds himself falling down.
The last thing he hears before hitting his head is the voice of the old man bellowing threats at him.
