"The wonderful yet very scary story of the Tower of Jezik" is a hypertext fiction made in Europe during the 2014 Erasmus Intensive Digital Literatures program that took place in Madrid.
Coming from different countries and different backgrounds, we worked together in producing a story dealing with the inefficiency of language and the aesthetics of frustration both through the content and the form.
About us
Ana Abril Hernández is from Spain and holds a degree in English Studies from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She is currently working as a collaborator at the Department of English Literature at the Faculty of Philology and finishing her Masters degree in Literary Studies.
Mario Aznar Pérez studied Spanish Philology at the Universidad of Murcia. He enjoys creative writing and fat red-headed mermaids with tattoos, and he's currently finishing his Masters degree in Literary Studies.
Émilie Barbier is from France and is currently studying Literary Translation (English/French) at Paris 8 University. Her Masters thesis dealt with the translation of cultural differences, but she's currently more interested in translating fantasy books and stories about dragons.
Leja Hočevar is from Slovenia and studies Video and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of Ljubljana. Before, she studied Textile and Fashion Design but then she realized she preferred filming and editing videos. On her free time, she makes all sort of illustration, collaborating as well for a local magazine.
Luis Javier Pisonero is from Venezuela, where he studied Literature at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He has studied creative writing and cultural management, as well, and is currently finishing his masters degree in Literary Studies.
